VIENDOMOVIES IN MARCH: IMPACTING PREMIERES AND A GREAT COMEDY CYCLE

ViendoMovies, the Spanish-language film channel that presents exclusive movies originally in this language without commercial interruptions, owned by SOMOSTV (a company led by Luis Villanueva and part of SOMOS Group), has prepared for the month of March a stellar programming lineup that includes the premiere of high-profile films and a comedy cycle every Sunday. This genre has gained significant popularity among the Latin audience in the United States and Puerto Rico. During this month, ViendoMovies will premiere the films “Hasta el Fin de Los Tiempos” (Mexico), “La Piel en Llamas” (Spain) and “Carajita” (Dominican Republic). Additionally, the channel has scheduled 30 comedies as part of a special movie cycle. All these films are recent productions and represent contemporary Spanish-language cinema, which has garnered numerous international accolades. ViendoMovies is known for supporting Spanish-language cinema and its talent by curating a wide variety of genres in its extensive library.

Let’s delve into the details of these films: “Hasta el Fin de Los Tiempos”, directed by Alejandro Molina, is a romantic comedy featuring Patricio (played by Bruno Bichir), a mature man whose life as he knew it comes to an end after a divorce. He not only loses his partner but also his home, job, and money. Devastated, he finds temporary refuge in an artist’s residence, where he gradually discovers people and experiences that guide him toward rebuilding his life. The film has received recognition at various international events. Another premiere is “La Piel en Llamas”, directed by David Martin Porras. This dramatic film stars Oscar Jaenada, Ella Kweku, Lidia Nene, and Fernando Tejero. It tells the story of Frederick Salomon, a war photographer who gains international fame for capturing an image of a girl soaring through the air due to unforeseen circumstances. The third premiere in ViendoMovies, is “Carajita”, a film from the popular Dominican cinema. The movie revolves around the relationship between Sara and her nanny, Sarita. Their bond transcends class and race, resembling more of a mother-daughter connection. However, a fateful day shatters this idyllic relationship, affecting both women. Directed by Ulises Porra and starring Cecile Van Welie and Magnolia Nuñez, Carajita has garnered widespread recognition: Platino Awards (2023): Magnolia Núñez was nominated for Best Actress; San Sebastián Film Festival (2021): Special Mention for New Directors; Mar del Plata Film Festival (2021): Best Ibero-American Film; Ariel Awards: Nominated for Best Latin American Film.

Additionally, ViendoMovies in march has curated a comedy cycle featuring 30 films, airing every Sunday starting at 3 PM. Comedy is a strong genre in Spanish-language cinema, with talented actors and skilled screenwriters. Notable titles include “Amor en tiempos de Likes” (2022, Ecuador), “Poliamor para Principiantes” (2021, Spain), “Amor en el Aire” (2023, Venezuela) and “Locos al Poder” (2019, Panamá).

ViendoMovies supports this ambitious cycle with its extensive library, aiming to provide enjoyable moments and much-needed laughter for its audience.
